In September 2023, the US Navy introduced an "Elective Option" offering cash compensation from $100,000 to $550,000 for those exposed to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune, including survivors or next of kin. It's an alternative to court cases and trials, using a streamlined administrative process.

Who is Eligible?

Qualifying for compensation

In general, anyone, Marine, other military, or civilian, who was exposed to the toxic water at Camp Lejeune for at least 30 days can qualify if they have or had a qualifying medical condition that was diagnosed between 2 to 35 years later. But if that same Marine, other military, or civilian died, even decades ago, the surviving spouse or surviving children may also have a claim.
